On the Deh Cho Connection

On the River Roads
We've crossed into the the Northwest Territories yesterday and have been driving through river country the past few days, or what we have been calling our Fort to Fort journey...from Fort Nelson to Fort Liard to Fort Simpson and on to Fort Providence today...the road is mostly gravel and mostly traveled by hard working trucks five to ten times our size....resource extraction and infrastructure development are still primary economic activities in the north 150 years after the first gold rush..
..
Of course there are more ancient travelers in the area

Welcome!

This blog is LOCAL in two senses: 1) one local view and 2) one view from a local (not an express) train of thought....a more meandering route, interested in the journey as much as the final stop.

And ALPENGLO? It is one way to suggest indirect reflection that illuminates the north in sometimes surprising ways, (from the German: Alpenglühen). Some say true alpenglow is only observed after sunset or before sunrise; a reflective time before the beginning or end of any eventful day.
