  1. Hey R. congrats on the blog.

My wife and I went to Yellowknife for our honeymoon several months after we got married. We were living in LA and decided to go to the end of the road north (after giving up on trying to drive to Machu Pichu because we couldn't find any maps or anyone who could tell us if it was even possible.)

We spent about two months altogether and made it to Yellowknife and a little beyond. After two warm sunny days (80s) at the end of the road, it got cloudy and cool, and we had to drive back through a forest fire as the road people allowed.

Our 40th comes up in January and learning to adjust to each other in a VW camper for two months helped.

Have a great trip to Yellowknife and on the blog.

  2. Thanks so much, Steve (and congrats to you and yours on 40 years!) Don and I celebrated 20 years together a few years ago, and would be happy to make 40, or even 50 someday, although we started kind of late-his folks just celebrated their 63rd anniversary and are still going strong (FYI: we honeymooned in a camper in an ice storm in West Virginia; I like your theory about early adjustments creating strong foundations!...:>)

We are looking forward to this next adventure. Feel free to check in as time and interest allows.
